As a teacher and SENCO, our assessor Leonie Sacher has a deep understanding of the education system and a wealth of experience teaching a wide variety of pupils of varying abilities and additional needs. She has taught both within the classroom environment and on a one to one basis and is well aware of the different types of learning and teaching styles that suit different people in different environments. This makes her perfectly placed to advise other teachers of the best way forward to help those that she has assessed to progress in their learning. Having taught numerous students with learning difficulties, she fully understands and appreciates the difficulties and issues that pupils and students face be it academically, physically or emotionally when struggling within a learning environment.
As an academic, Leonie is a highly qualified graduate from two of the top UK universities. She is passionately interested in helping to diagnose those with Dyslexia and in helping them to find strategies to cope with their disability. This will eventually enable them to achieve their full potential. She therefore keeps well up to date with all of the most recent research into Dyslexia. She has assessed people of all ages, from primary school pupils through to adults.
As a parent herself, Leonie is able to empathise with both the hopes and concerns of parents of children with Dyslexia and so is happy to answer any questions that parents may have regarding the whole assessment and teaching process.
